Well - why not?!?!
Actually my love of Italy goes back many years. As a college senior, I took an Italian art history class, and was in love with the art and culture that I learned about. As I graduated from college I made a list of future "goals" for myself - one of them being to visit Italy one day.
I was fortunate enough to make my first trip to Italy with two of my best girlfriends in early 2001. It was late February and early March and we explored this wonderful country; traveling to Rome, Florence (visiting Pisa), then to Sorrento before heading back to Rome for our return flight to the States.
I have many wonderful memories of that trip, and despite having checked off that item from my bucket list I still have a desire to return!
Now, 15 years later life is different. Now, as a wife and mother travel and vacations are often more local and involve our young children (which I wouldn't trade!). However, my husband and I made a decision to do a special trip for each of our 40th birthdays. We had a fabulous trip to Jamaica to celebrate Ryan's 40th in 2014; and now this fall as I reach this milestone birthday we are headed abroad to my Italy!
Planning and dreaming began a good year in advance of this trip, and now we are about 6 months out from our departure. I look forward to sharing and documenting our memories of this trip.
